The
Mt. Washington Bed & Breakfast is a Federal style farmhouse
and was built by Charles & Bertha Philbrook in the late 1800's.
The B & B is located in the Androscoggin River Valley and sits
on a hill overlooking the Androscoggin River and Reflection Pond.
Surrounded by the White Mountains all our rooms have views. As
you relax on the porch, you can gaze at Mount
Washington and even see smoke from the Cog
Railway as it makes its way to the highest peak in the Northeast
(6288 feet!).
Start
your day with a full breakfast prepared by Mary Ann. You awaken
to the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. When you walk into the
Hummingbird Dining Room you seat yourself at a table set with
orange juice and fresh fruit. What will breakfast be today? Stuffed
cinnamon french toast, lemon raspberry pancakes, or one of Mary
Ann's other specialties? With your entrée you have a choice of
bacon, sausage, or Canadian bacon. Every day Mary Ann cooks something
different - seconds are always available! Have special dietary
needs - low carb/vegetarian/gluten-free? Just let Mary Ann know
before check in! Always available are a selection of cereals,
Mt. Washington B & B
homemade granola, and eggs. While eating breakfast, you may be
visited by one of the Hummingbirds who come to feed at the window
during the summer. During the winter watch for chickadees, nuthatch,
goldfinch, and other birds. In the spring with migration you might
catch sight of an Indigo Bunting with its iridescent blue feathers!
The
Mt. Washington B & B
offers a quiet, relaxing and smoke-free atmosphere. Come be pampered
at this award winning B & B. After breakfast, you can choose to
curl up on the sofa in the "Knowing Room" to read a book or sit
on the porch and gaze at the Presidentials or bird watch. Will
you catch a glimpse of the Bald Eagles who hunt in the area and
occasionally sail over the Bed and Breakfast - or one of the many
other birds that make the White Mountains their home?
If
you choose an active day - you can golf, swim, canoe, kayak, fish,
fly fish, hike, bike, moose watch, snowshoe, ski - either cross
country or downhill, rent a snowmobile, build a snowman, sightsee,
shop, go antiquing, or visit one of the many attractions in the
area. In the afternoon you return to find home baked goodies such
as "Auntie May's oatmeal spice cookies" in your room. Beverages
are always available.
